Maybe Al Ciberano can get back to winning form

By Trevor Reid

It has been a while since the Tony Rivalland-trained Al Ciberano has made it into the winner’s enclosure but on a surface he does well on, the Polytrack, and over a distance he has won over (1000m) the gelding could win Race 5, a MR 86 Handicap at Greyville tonight.

The blinkers he wore last time out saw Al Ciberano getting caught late by Redcarpet Captain over 1200m and with Anton Marcus replacing the apprentice Dennis Schwarz he could make all.

The main danger is likely to be Fire The Rocket. This Kildonan six-year-old gelding loves the course and distance and the Doug Campbell yard and jockey Muzi Yeni are in decent form.

Campbell also trains Maybe who should run well in Race 8, a FM 66 Handicap over 2000m.

This AP Answer four-year-old filly did well when touching off fellow runner Modernista over the course and distance last month and with the change of both riders who rode that day meets Modernista on 0.50 kg better terms.

The 4kg claiming apprentice Dennis Schwarz replaces Anthony Delpech aboard Maybe and Diego de Gouveia Brandon Lerena on Modernista.

There are a few others like La Vida Banco and Zilla who are also capable of winning.
