Kruger takes maiden British FF win

Former multiple South African single seater champion Jayde Kruger last weekend took his first victory in the British Formula Ford championship.

Kruger won round 26 of the 2013 Dunlop Formula Ford championship at Silverstone in a Jamun Mygale. He finished ahead of his team-mate Juan Rosso with Sam Brabham (JTR Mygale) third.

Brabham led from the start with Rosso, Kruger and Harrison Scott (VCM Mygale) behind him. Kruger broke away from the others at the halfway mark and managed to pass Brabham with two laps left.

“We’ve been struggling with the tyres a bit,” said Kruger afterwards, “so I opted to take things easy at the beginning and wait for tyres to go off for other drivers.

“I think that paid off.”

There are three races left this season with Kruger, who missed the first nine, now established as a regular top six finisher.
