Meintjes makes solid start at worlds
Louis Meintjes claimed a credible eighth-place in the under-23 men's individual time trial (TT) at the UCI Road World Championships in Spain on Monday.

Meintjies told the roadtorio.co.za website that the course did not quite suite him but he was nevertheless happy with the result.
“I’m happy with eighth spot but also really happy with how my legs were feeling before the road race on Friday,” Meintjes told the website on Monday.
He claimed a silver medal at the World Under-23 Road Race Championships in Italy last year after finishing a close second to Slovenia’s Matej Mohoric.
Meintjes will be targeting another podium finish in Friday’s 182km road race.
