Raven Klaasen one hurdle away from another major title

By Wesley Botton

Raven Klaasen will compete in the men’s doubles final at Indian Wells this weekend, in search of his second career Masters title, after the South African player and American partner Rajeev Ram romped through the semifinals of the BNP Paribas Open.

Klaasen and Ram defeated Gilles Muller of Luxembourg and Sam Querrey of the US, earning a convincing 6-2 6-4 victory in the penultimate round on Friday morning (SA time).

They will face either fourth seeds Jamie Murray of Scotland and Bruno Soares of Brazil, who won last year’s Australian and US Open titles, or eighth seeds Lukasz Kubot of Poland and Marcelo Melo of Brazil, in the trophy decider.
