Who will win the RWC final? The bones have spoken…

Looking into the future, The Great Gobela Nkomoye ‘Sganga said it will not be easy, it ‘will be a fight’.

Bongi Mbonambi and Malcolm Marx probably wouldn’t rate it as much of a throw, but yesterday’s tossing of the bones by The Great Gobela Nkomoye ‘Sganga, a sangoma, had an outcome they would have approved of: the ancestors say the Boks will win tomorrow.

After tossing away his hand-rolled cigarette and sitting down with family members to repeat ancestral chants, The Great Gobela shook the animal skin bag before throwing an assortment of bones, shells, dice and domino pieces on to a reed mat.

With a stick indicating various pieces on the mat, The Great Gobela said: ‘These guys, our guys, they are going to win.’

But, he said, looking into the future, it will not be easy, it ‘will be a fight’.

The Springboks, he added, will have to be ‘careful at the back’ and ‘must not make any mistake’ because the team they are up against are ‘not little boys’.

Ominously, The Great Gobela said the bones told him that ‘there will be an injury’ but he offered no details.
