‘Everybody has a price’, says Pitso amid Billiat interest rumours

Mamelodi Sundowns are believed to be lining up a sensational move that would see Khama Billiat return to the Brazilians just after one season with Kaizer Chiefs.

Billiat is said to be unhappy at Naturena and Downs coach Pitso Mosimane is keen to have the Zimbabwean international.

However, Mosimane says he is not at liberty to talk about Billiat as he is avoiding a fine from the PSL, suggesting that he would be charged for poaching the player.

Nonetheless, “Jingles” says while Chiefs are not willing to sell Billiat, as Amakhosi head coach Ernst Middendorp has said – everyone has a price, Mosimane insists.

“I should be very careful on this issue because I need to respect Kaizer Chiefs, they are a big institution and if they complain to the league they will fine me for poaching their player because he is a Chiefs player. If we want Khama, we speak to Chiefs and then they will tell us if they are selling or not,” Mosimane told reporters.

“But sometimes if you are not selling, even Lionel Messi has price. If someone says they will give me $1-million a month, I think I will be gone. Everybody has a price. We can always say we don’t have a price but even my players have a price,” he added.

Mosimane says he has learnt from the time where he publicly confessed his interest in then Cape Town City attacker Aubrey Ngoma before Sundowns officially approached City for Ngoma’s services.

“John Comitis wrote a big love letter for me and I must learn from that. Even on that one I was asked if I would love to have a player like that and I said who would not want to have a player like that. But if we want Khama, it must be from club to club… we are not amateurs” said Mosimane.
