Former Bafana star unhappy with lack of game time

Former Bafana Bafana defender, Bryce Moon has expressed his dissatisfaction with lack of game time at Maritzburg United whom he reportedly chose over interest from teams like Kaizer Chiefs as he wanted to be closer to home.

The 31-year-old player was quoted in Isolezwe on Thursday saying playing just over 90 minutes the whole season has not sat down well with him.

“I am sad that I didn’t play much. I don’t know why but I don’t think it has anything to do with hard work because I give my all in training and if it wasn’t so the coaches would have called me aside and told me where I was lacking,” Moon was quoted as saying.

“I am always in the match day squad but I sit on the bench and never get a look in. The other players I sit with on the bench get to play but I am ignored and left there all the time. I don’t know why. The people can see this, everyone can see it,” he said.

Moon, who can play as either a right back or winger, has been playing second fiddle to Kwanda Mngonyama.

“I turned down a few offers with better money because I wanted to be closer to home. I am not sorry about my decision though… I still have a year left on my contract, so I can’t go and speak to the management about my situation. There is no player who can accept this situation. I want to play.”
