Shabba set to extend Chiefs stay

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphiwe ‘Shabba’ Tshabalala is set to sign a new contract with Amakhosi at the end of the season.

This was revealed by his agent Jazzman Mahlakgane.

“His current deal will expire at the end of the season. We have spoken with Chiefs and he will stay at the club,” Mahlakgane told Independent Media.

“We are still discussing numbers and once we are done we will be able to sign.

“It can either be a one-year contract with an option (to renew) or a simple one-year contract. That is what we are currently discussing at the moment.

“He is definitely going to stay with Chiefs. He is still happy at Chiefs and they are also still happy with him,” added Mahlakgane.

Tshabalala is the club’s longest-serving player, having been with Amakhosi since 2007.

He has won two Premiership titles, three Telkom Knockouts, two MTN8s, as well as the Nedbank Cup with Amakhosi.
