We will have to keep calm against TS Galaxy – Katsande

Katsande conceded that Galaxy are a ball playing side and will likely try to frustrate them with their skills and flair.


Kaizer Chiefs’ midfield workhorse and current captain, Willard Katsande has admitted that they might have to be calm and not let TS Galaxy’s rotation of the ball get to them when the two sides meet in the Nedbank Cup final at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday night.

Katsande conceded that Galaxy are a ball playing side and will likely try to frustrate them with their skills and flair.

“My responsibility as a senior player in the team will be to tell the players to calm down and not lose our heads. They are a ball playing teams and will likely exchange four, five or even nine passes without us touching the ball or getting it back. So, we will need to remain calm while we try and get the ball back quicker so that we don’t lose pour shape.

“My duty will be to ensure we keep that in mind at all times and not lose our shape,” said the veteran former Zimbabwe national team captain.

With tickets for the final sold out two weeks before match day, Katsande knows their supporters will be out in numbers demanding something from them.

“We know how it is when we play in Durban. We know our fans are very demanding, but in a good way because they want us to be successful. We need to give them a performance and we need to work hard. It is how we approach it that will determine the result.”
