TTM appoint former Swallows mentor as new coach

“Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila Football Club has successfully completed a vigorous process of appointing Mr Zeca Marques as Head Coach with immediate effect,' read the club statement.


Following a lengthy absence from domestic football, nomadic Portugese born Zeca Marques, was on Tuesday announced as the new GladAfrica Championship side Tshakuma Tsha Madzivhandila head coach.

Marques, who was last in charge of Maccabi FC in 2019, has been without a team since and joins TTM as a replacement for Serbian-born coach Moma Medic.

Marques has signed a two years deal with the Limpopo based outfit, while former Black Leopards striker Mulondo Sikhwivhilu has been roped in as his assistant.

“Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila Football Club (“TTM FC”) has successfully completed vigorous process of assortment and/or appointment of Mr. Jose ” Zeca” Marques as Head Coach with immediate effect on a two-year deal. He comes with extensive experience from both National First Division/GladAfrica Championship Division and Premier Soccer League which will be of great value to the football club,” read the club’s statement.

“Coach Zeca will be joined by former Premier Soccer league goal poacher Mr. Mulondo Sikhwivhilu as his assistant coach.”

The club further stated that they are happy with their new acquisition and they are certain that they will take the club into the right direction.

“We are enthusiastic and inspired as a club and strongly have faith that both Coach Zeca and Assistant Coach Sikhwivhilu together with our current technical team will be able to navigate the titanic vessel of Vhadau vha Damani to the right route.”

Recording two wins, two draws and three losses from their last seven league fixtures, Vhadau vha Damani sits on12th spot on the league standings with eight points. 

Marques has also coached Santos FC and Black Leopards. The 60-year old is well known in the South African football circles as ‘Mr Lollipop’, thanks to his lollipop licking whilst on the bench during games.
