Chiefs suspend Zuma after drink-driving allegations

'His suspension is in the interests of all parties concerned and does not in itself carry any inference of guilt or prejudgement,' said Chiefs in a statement.

“Kaizer Chiefs is disappointed to learn of the recent alleged conduct of Dumsani Zuma as reported in the media and has taken the decision to immediately suspend him from all Club activities pending an internal disciplinary hearing,” read a Chiefs statement.

“His suspension is in the interests of all parties concerned and does not in itself carry any inference of guilt or prejudgement.

“The Club will ensure the matter is resolved as quickly as reasonably possible.”

The City Press reported that Zuma was arrested after being stopped in a police roadblock in Sandton the early hours of Wednesday November 3.

Zuma has been out of actions since the middle of this year with a knee injury, his last appearance coming in a 4-0 Caf Champions League win over Simba SC on May 15.
