While the exact circumstances of his death remain unclear at this point, it is known that he had been unwell for some time and was recently diagnosed with a heart issue.

Reports indicate that he fainted on Wednesday morning and subsequently passed away later in the day while receiving treatment for a heart attack at a hospital.

Chigova began his professional career in Zimbabwe with the Gunners before moving to Dynamos.

In 2014, he joined SuperSport United in South Africa and later played for various teams around Limpopo, including Polokwane City.

Chigova was rell travelled

He returned to SuperSport last season. The experienced goalkeeper also represented Zimbabwe’s national team, the Warriors, on multiple occasions.

Chigova’s death comes shortly after the passing of former Zimbabwe coach Rahman Gumbo, who also collapsed and died in Botswana.

As of now, SuperSport United has not released an official statement regarding Chigova’s demise.

In the PSL, this sad news follows closely on the heels of the recent death of AmaZulu’s Bongi Ntuli, who succumbed to cancer after a brief illness.
