Another NFD club sells its status

National First Division side Stellenbosch FC are said to have sold their status, a source has told Phakaaathi.

According to the source, Stellenbosch’s owners are going through some financial difficulties and can’t run the club anymore, so they decided to sell.

“Yes, it is true the club has been sold. I can’t reveal the name of the new owners yet because of some of the things that have to be finalised by both parties. But what I know is that both parties are happy and the new owners are excited and looking forward to taking the club to new heights,” said the source.

Phakaaathi has learnt the new owners are based in Johannesburg and are former Mpumalanga Black Aces owners George and Mario Morfou, who now own Alexandra United in the ABC Motsepe League.
