Arrows game came too soon – Mosimane

Pitso Mosimane says his Absa Premiership table-topping Mamelodi Sundowns’ match against Golden Arrows tonight came sooner than he would have liked.

Masandawana will be playing a second league game in quick succession following their 2-0 win over outgoing champions Bidvest Wits this past Saturday.

Mosimane’s has a headache over the fitness of the likes of Thapelo Morena and Sibusiso “Vila” Vilakazi, among others.

“I don’t like that game, it is too close. Khama Billiat is out, Thapelo and “Vila” are struggling. We have to do what we have to do and grind results,” said Mosimane.

While Downs are steps ahead of second-place Orlando Pirates with four games to go, Mosimane says his players are not going to allow complacency to get the better of them much like last season when Wits overtook them to the title.

“At this point in time last season we were drawing. I like what my players say, they say we learnt from our mistakes of last year and we are not going to go through that,” he said.

“Do we want to go to Bloemfontein in the last match and hope for the win at the Dr Molemela Stadium? You are not serious if you do that because it is not easy because they don’t easily lose there.

“Hopefully we can wrap it up early and we can rest the important players and I hope no one will say we are giving other people a chance to win against us. We have to look after ourselves whilst players are falling off like this.”
