Bafana coach Baxter confirms Khune’s Afcon absence
Stuart Baxter has confirmed that Itumeleng Khune will not play in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper and Bafana Bafana number one has not played for Amakhosi since the beginning of December, and Chiefs head coach Ernst Middendorp had already ruled out the possibility of him playing at the 2019 Afcon finals, which will take place in Egypt from June 21 to July 19.
“I was at Naturena this week and I spoke to Ernst and Chiefs’ medical staff there, and they said training is going very slowly, it is not in the realm of possibility that he will be anywhere near fit so that is discounted,” said Baxter on Thursday.
