Banyana duo leave US club

Houston coach James Clarkson thanked them for their contribution in the team.

Houston Dash have parted ways with Banyana Banyana’s Thembi Kgatlana and Linda Motlhalo, the club has announced.

“We are grateful for everything Linda and Thembi have given the club. We wish them best as they begin the next chapter of their career. We would have loved to have them join us in 2019, but we understand the complexities of the global game and the interest in players like Linda or Thembi,” Clarkson told the club’s website.

“This now gives us roster flexibility, including an open international spot as we continue to build the 2019 Houston Dash.”

The Banyana duo joined Houston in February last year.

Kgatlana scored two goals and made three assists for the Dash in her lone season with the club, while Motlhalo scored a goal and made an assist in 21 appearances for Houston.
