Baroka players plot relegation escape

Bakgaga captain Mduduzi Mdantsane says players have met to discuss how they could survive relegation.

Baroka have gone on a downward spiral since winning the Telkom Knockout.

They are currently second from the bottom with 21 points in 24 matches, leading bottom-placed Maritzburg United by four points.

“It’s tough,” Mdantsane told SunSport. “But the play-offs are not an option for us. It will be embarrassing for us should the team be relegated. Imagine the Telkom champions in the NFD, that would be unpleasant. We spoke to the guys about the toughness of the play-offs. They know if ever we go there, which might happen, then we might not come back. We were lucky to survive the chop the first time around.”
