Benni responds to Ertugral’s ‘baby’ comment, refuses to be ‘screwed over’

Cape Town City coach Benni McCarthy has responded to Ajax Cape Town mentor Muhsin Ertugral calling him a 'baby'.


This comes after Ertugral said in his post-match comment that the former Bafana Bafana striker is still a baby, adding that next time he would bring a lollipop so he could play with it.

The Turkish coach said this after a confrontation on the sidelines between him and McCarthy that led to the former Porto striker being sent to the stands.

McCarthy took to Twitter to respond to respond to Ertugral’s comments.

“Yeah, I’m still a baby when it comes to coaching, but a very difficult baby to beat, it seems. So, I must just shut up when my team or players are getting bullied on the field of play? Don’t know what SICK world all you lot think I’m living in if I’m going to sit still and be screwed over,” McCarthy.

City won the Ikapa derby 1-0 at the Cape Town Stadium, with Craig Martin scoring the winner for McCarthy’s team.
