Bernard Parker boost for Chiefs

Veteran Kaizer Chiefs striker Bernard Parker has returned to training after recovering from an ankle injury.


Amakhosi’ physiotherapist Dave Milner confirmed Parker’s return on the club’s website.

“Parker has recovered from an ankle injury,” Milner told the club’s website. “He is back in training with the rest of the squad.”

Milner also provided an update on Chiefs players working their way back to full fitness.

“Mahlasela has started with rehab in the gym,” Milner added. “He is doing cardio and leg strengthening. He is still using crutches and a brace. We are looking at eight weeks to go before he resumes training on the pitch.”

“Zulu sprained his ankle. He is undergoing treatment and will be under assessment throughout the week.

“Defender Tsepo Masilela is back in training while new signing Kabelo Mahlasela is expected to stay out for eight more weeks.

“George Maluleka is recovering from a calf strain.”

Meanwhile, coach Steve Komphela will have Joseph Molangoane and Teenage Hadebe available for their next game after the duo served their respective suspensions.
