Bvuma set to start for Chiefs against Magic FC

Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp has hinted that Bvuma will start for Amakhosi at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

With Daniel Akpeyi cup-tied, Bruce Bvuma is set to start in goals for Kaizer Chiefs when they take on The Magic FC in the Nedbank Cup last-16 match Port Elizabeth on Sunday.

Akpeyi, was in goals for Amakhosi when they take on rivals Orlando Pirates, featuring for his former club Chippa United earlier in the competition.

“Daniel Akpeyi is cup-tied and we are forced to make changes and possibly bring in Bruce Bvuma,” told the club’s website,” said Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp.

“We have to be patient as the technical team. If Akpeyi is not available, we have to make changes.”

Meanwhile, Middendorp says Chiefs will not take The Magic FC lightly when the sides meet on Sunday.

“As I said before our last Nedbank Cup game against Tornado FC, there’s nothing new about going to Magic FC.

“They play in the ABC Motsepe League, but we are not going to take it easy – far from it.

“We observed Magic FC last weekend. We are going to play our best XI in Port Elizabeth. We had our scouts watch their game.

“We have information about their structure and way of playing. We will be well-prepared to win the match. We aren’t going there relaxed. Above all, it’s about our own ideas and strategy,” concluded the German coach.
