Chiefs boss Kaizer Motaung survives brick attack

Kaizer Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung’s car was reportedly hit with a brick while he was driving to the Chiefs Village in Naturena.


According to a report in the Sunday World, Motaung’s car was damaged in the attack from a man who demanded R1 million from the club.

The suspect, who has been named as Sizwe Blessing Mbotho, was arrested for the attacked.

Mbotho is said to be accusing Chiefs of owing him R1 million that he won from a competition ran by a cellphone company.

Mbotho reportedly tried to arrange a meeting with Motaung over the R1 million he was told to collect from the club by the cellphone company and his meeting requests were allegedly ignored by Chiefs which led to man camping on the road that leads to the entrance of the Kaizer Chiefs village.

Gauteng police spokesman Kay Makhubela confirmed that the man was arrested after he was found at the Chiefs village.

“He appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court and was remanded in custody. He will appear in the same court for a bail application on Tuesday,” Makhubela told Sunday World.
