Chiefs target turns down overseas offers

Free State Stars coach Luc Eymael has revealed that he turned down offers from top teams in African and Europe to remain with Ea Lla Koto.

“I’ve had calls from many clubs wanting me to come to join them, but I refused,” Eymael told reporters after his side drew with Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday.

“I’ve had offers from Wydad Casablanca, SC Faxien, Kuwait and Qatar but I wanted to stay here, the club is threating me well. The management and players support me and listen to me. We understand each other.”

The 58-year-old has also been linked with Kaizer Chiefs as Steve Komphela’s replacement.

Komphela is said to have been given an ultimatum to win silverware this season or his contract won’t be renewed.
