Chippa CEO Morgan Mammila resigns

Mammila’s resignation comes three days after the club was knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by Kaizer Chiefs.

Just close to four months after joining Chippa United as CEO, Morgan Mammila has shocked the football fraternity when he announced his resignation at the club on Tuesday morning.

Mammila’s resignation comes three days after the club was knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by Kaizer Chiefs.

The former Baroka FC CEO went on Twitter to announce his resignation from the Chilli Boys but didn’t reveal what led to his departure.

“I have resigned as CEO of Chippa United FC with immediate effect. I will like to thank Mr Mpengesi, Management, Technical Team, players and the loving supporters for the opportunity and support they gave to me. All the best to the team,” Mammila tweeted.

Mammila was confirmed as the CEO of Chippa on January 7, a month after his former side Baroka clinched the Telkom Knockout trophy.
