Chippa United sign Botswana duo

Chippa United have confirmed the signing of Botswana international duo Thatoyaone Kgamanyane and Kabelo Seakanyeng.

The duo joins former Mamelodi Sundowns Thabo Nthethe, who joined the Chilli Boys as a free agent after the Brazilians decided to not renew his contract.

Kgamanyane, 22, is currently the leading goalscorer in the Botswana Premier League with 20 goals.

Seakanyeng, 24, is already one of the senior members of the Botswana national team with 46 caps. He plays in the wide positions and as a second striker.

Chippa chairperson Siviwe Mpengesi has welcomed the both players to the Chilli Boys.

“We have been monitoring both players for a while, and took the opportunity to watch them closely during Cosafa [Cup].

“We were looking for players that can give us more offensive power and we believe both are an answer to that,” Mpengesi said.

Mpengesi paid tribute to Gaborone United for their professionalism during the negotiations.

“I would like to thank Gaborone United management on the manner they handled the negotiations. They were absolutely brilliant from day one.

“The guys will make an impact in the Absa Premiership, I welcome them and wish them all the best in the blue and white of Chippa United,” concluded Mpengesi.
