Dube grateful to have finally played first official game for Chiefs
Dube was signed by Chiefs from the KwaZulu-Natal-based GladAfrica Championship side, Richards Bay FC.

Kaizer Chiefs defender, Thabani Dube says he had to stay ready to make an impact when given an opportunity in the team.

Dube was signed by Chiefs from the KwaZulu-Natal-based GladAfrica Championship side, Richards Bay FC.
While the supporters were excited about his and Njabulo Ngcobo’s signing, expecting a solid partnership, the coach, Stuart Baxter has said he will gradually build them into the team.
Dube and Ngcobo played together for Bafana Bafana during the Cosafa Cup and looked solid and to have built an immediate understanding. While Ngcobo is yet to make the match-day squad, Dube has had his first few minutes in the Amakhosi colours. He came on as a second-half substitute in the 2-1 DStv Premiership win over Baroka last week.
“It felt great that it finally happened… I knew it was going to come someday, I just did not know when,” Dube told the club’s website.
“I had to stay ready for it, I am very grateful that I played my first official game in the colors of Kaizer Chiefs.”
Dube is with Bafana who will play Ghana in a Fifa World Cup qualifier today (Monday).
“The national team call-up is an honour, being called to represent the country is always an honour, everything happened so fast for me I made my debut for Chiefs a few days ago and now I am at the national team. I am honored to be part of the national team. I feel happy and these are joyful moments for me,” he said.
