Eagles axe Papic, rope in Sikhakhane

Struggling National First Division side Royal Eagles have parted ways with coach Kosta Papic.

According to a source close to the club, Papic has been replaced by former Chippa United coach Roger Sikhakhane.

“The management felt that change is needed because Eagles are now facing relegation even though they have been playing well under Papic. Roger has always done well in the NFD and the club felt that he was the right man to take Eagles out of the relegation,” the source told Phakaaathi.

Papic’s assistant Vladislav Heric is also said to be facing the exit door at Eagles.

“Heric could stay on as a technical advisor, but that will depend on the negotiations between him and the club.”

Sikhakhane’s move to Eagles comes as a surprise as he took up the technical director’s post at Chippa United last month.
