Newly signed Stellenbosch FC striker Ryan Moon says it isgood to be in an environment where he feels wanted and that the reason why he joined Stellies.

Moon, who was released by Kaizer Chiefs at the end of last season, joined Stellenbosch during the current transfer period.

Prior to joining Stellies, Moon had a trial with Scottish side Hibernian, but failed to impress the club’s technical team, even though he managed to score during Hibs’ preseason friendlies.

“I want to say thanks to the management and the team for bringing me here. What attracted me to come to Stellenbosch is that, firstly, before I joined the team I looked at the facilities, they were amazing,” Moon told reporters on Friday.

“I looked at the technical staff, a great coach in coach Steve and for me, it’s always good to be in an environment where you feel wanted, you feel you can improve as a player.”

Moon added that he was happy with the welcome he got from his new teammates.

“I’ve been here for a week and it feels like I’ve been here for years. That’s because of the coaches and the players, they make you want to look forward to coming to training on the next day.

“That’s very important as a player because it’s your job and I just want to play and enjoy my football. I think with this team, especially coming up, they have a lot of big plans as a club, it’s exciting to be part of.

“Everybody wants to learn here, the players and the technical wants to learn, it’s been really great so far and I’m really looking forward to the season,” concluded Moon.
