Ex-Pirates striker linked with SuperSport move

Former Orlando Pirates striker Ndumiso Mabena is set to join SuperSport United next season.

The Bloemfontein Celtic striker is reportedly talking to Matsatsantsa about a possible move at the end of the season.

The 31-year-old is leaving Celtic because of the club’s financial struggles. Mabena would like for Siwelele to offer him an improved contract.

“He’s on his way to SuperSport. The deal is about 80% done. I am expecting him to sign a pre-contract soon, maybe next week,” a source told SundayWorld. “Age is no longer on his side, so it’s important for him to get a contract that will ensure he’s well off after retirement… As much as he’s excited to be joining SuperSport he still gives his all for Celtic. I get a sense that the main push for him to go is because Celtic can’t afford to offer him an improved salary.”
