Eymael appreciates support but thinks Mosimane deserves award

Free State Stars coach Luc Eymael has said he thinks his Mamelodi Sundowns counterpart Pitso Mosimane deserves the Coach of the Season award.

Eymael took to Twitter on Monday after the Premier Soccer League (PSL) announces their nominees for the end of season awards set for May 29 to thanks those who questioned his omission from the Coach of the Season award.

“Guys thanks for your reaction for the non-nomination for Coach of the Year. But for me it is Pitso who won the league and he deserves to be Coach of the Season,” wrote the Belgian mentor who guided Ea Lla Koto to their first trophy in over 24 years last Saturday as they won the Nedbank Cup.

The 58-year-old however said he would feel left out if the PSL were to introduce a category for a coach who improved their team the most and he was not nominated.

“(But) then if the PSL makes another trophy (award) for the coach who improved his team the most… there will be a problem,” he added.
