Eymael favourite to replace Komphela at Chiefs

Luc Eymael will be the new man in charge at Kaizer Chiefs next season if what Phakaaathi sources are saying is anything to go by.

A source said everything has been ironed out between the two clubs and Free State Stars have agreed to release Eymael while they consider rehiring Steve Komphela.

“Listen, I can tell you this: Chiefs and Stars will exchange coaches at the end of the season. Komphela is unhappy about it but there is nothing he can do as he has nothing tangible to argue his case at Chiefs,” said a source.

Meanwhile, Komphela got hot under the collar when asked about the names of coaches who have been mentioned as his possible replacement should the club not renew his contract at the end of the current campaign.

An angry Komphela uncharacteristically warned those who want his position to be careful of what they wish for and even threatened to report their disloyalty to their bosses.

“Just a warning to my colleagues … be careful what you wish for. Ambition kills. Leadership must be given, not demanded. Anybody who goes for power and demands power must be careful how power might handle them. Power shall be given and never taken because there might be resistance. If I differ with that colleague who goes out there while holding a job I might just dust the table and go to his employer and say this guy is not loyal he is a hypocrite, he is a missionary,” said Komphela.
