Former Pirates winger still training with Celtic

The jury is still out on whether former Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits player Sifiso Myeni will sign for Bloemfontein Celtic.

The 30-year-old has been training with Siwelele’s first team in the hope to revive his career since he was discarded by the Students at the start of the season.

Myeni had a training stint with Eastern Cape-based side Chippa United, but things did not go according to plan as he seemingly did not impress the Chilli Boys to earn himself a contract.

Earlier Phakaaathi was led to believe that Myeni had stopped training with Siwelele, however, Celtic caretaker coach Lehlohonolo Seema says that’s not the case, as he is still taking his time to have a look at the former SuperSport United attacker.

“He is still training and he has been interesting in training. But we are still looking at him. We have not made a decision yet,” said Seema, who added that he is confident that he will guide Celtic to a half finish in the Absa Premiership.

“The games are getting tougher and lesser and we will still fight. We are still in it with six games to go, we are not giving up yet,” the former Pirates captain said.
