Former TP Mazembe coach linked with Chiefs job

Former TP Mazembe and Mali coach Patrice Carteron is the latest coach to be linked with the vacant head coaching job at Kaizer Chiefs.


The Frenchman joins the likes of Avram Grant, Mick McCarthy, Gavin Hunt, Nikola Kavazovic, Luc Eymael and Eric Tinkler, who have been mentioned as possible replacement for Steve Komphela.

Other coaches who are also said to be in the running for the Chiefs job are Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter and club legend Doctor Khumalo, who is currently a technical director at Baroka FC.

Carterton, who led TP Mazembe to two league titles, three African Supper Cups and one Caf Champions League title between 2013 and 2016, is currently in charge of US side Phoenix Rising, whom he joined last year.
