‘Happy’ Mokwena set to stay at Pirates

Orlando Pirates assistant coach Rhulani Mokwena says he is happy at the Buccaneers, and will stay with the club next season.

This comes after reports that Baroka FC, Polokwane City and Chippa United want to appoint him as head coach.

“I’ve read those [reports], but I don’t know anything about that,” Mokwena told the media during the PSL awards nominees press conference on Monday.

“What I know is that I’m extremely happy at Orlando Pirates, and I’m looking forward to the future with Pirates.”

Mokwena has not completely ruled out the possibility of leaving Pirates and becoming a head coach someday.

“I know people think I’m ready to be a head coach, and I respect people’s opinions and feelings, but I’ve got my own pathway and career plan.

“I also accept that I’m not going to be an assistant for the rest of my career. I have specific timelines, which are in my Bible,” concluded Mokwena.
