I snubbed Orlando Pirates – Maluleke
Veteran Polokwane City midfielder Jabulani Maluleke has revealed that he turned down Orlando Pirates at the start of last season.

The 37-year-old midfielder said he chose loyalty over fame and fortune.
“Before the past season started, I did get an offer from Pirates, but loyalty is everything. I chose to stay with City,” Maluleke told the Daily Sun.

Maluleke added that growing up, playing for the big teams like Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, and Mamelodi Sundowns was not part of his dreams.
“All I wanted was to win the league with any club,” he said.
“I won two leagues title in a row (with SuperSport United) and now I’d love to win a cup with my current team as I’m enjoying my stay here.”
Maluleke started his professional football career at Black Leopards in 2005. He left Lidoda Duvha in 2009 and joined SuperSport United, where he spent five years before joining Polokwane City on loan in January 2014.
The loan deal was then turned into a permanent contract in June 2014.
