I was told South Africa is too dangerous – Brockie

Mamelodi Sundowns striker Jeremy Brockie says he doesn't regret moving to South Africa from New Zealand.

Brockie admits that he didn’t know a lot about South Africa before moving here, with friends telling him not to move to the country because it was “too dangerous”.

“I love it out here. South Africa is similar to New Zealand in many ways, so it feels like a second home to me,” Brockie was quoted by Sunday World.

“The wildlife and, of course, another thing we share is our passion for sport in general. It was a good choice to come to the PSL.”

“Yeah, a few people were shocked by me coming. To be honest, I didn’t know much about the country, so I did my own conclusion.”

Brockie moved to South Africa with his wife and daughter, then they had a son while living in South Africa.

“As a family we have been to the Pilanesberg National Park at Sun City a number of times and to the uSkhaka Marine World [in Durban]. We have been to the beaches in Cape Town, Durban and winelands in Constatia. South Africa is really a beautiful country.”
