Jelusic leaves Bloemfontein Celtic

Veselin Jelusic’s agent, Ivica Stankovic, has confirmed that his client is leaving Siwelele after just one season with the club.

Jelusic’s future with Celtic has been the subject of speculation since rumours of the club’s sale emerged at the end of last season.

There were reports that the coach had bought a one-way ticket to Serbia, but Celtic came out to deny these reports.

Stankovic, however, confirmed to Phakaaathi on Thursday that Jelusic had indeed tendered his resignation at Celtic.

“Yes, it’s true that he [Veselin Jelusic] has resigned,” Stankovic said.

Asked if Jelusic, who has been linked with several clubs, will remain in South Africa, Stankovic said: “We have no offers from South Africa yet. We’re still looking for something for him.”

Jelusic joined Celtic at the beginning of last season, and guided Siwelele to an 11th place finish.
