Kgatlana mum on her next move

Reigning African woman Footballer of the Year Thembi Kgatlana has not revealed her next move since she parted way with Houston.

The 22-year old striker spent only a season at the US-based side and had become a fan favourite, with the announcement that she will be leaving the club along with Banyana Banyana teammate Linda Motlhalo surprising many.

“I can’t really say nothing much at the moment. My agent is working on somethings that needed to be sorted out before I say anything,” said Kgatlana after her motivational talk to pupils at her former high school AB Phokompe in Mohlakeng, where she also donated soccer balls for women’s football development at the school partnering with La Liga.

Kgatlana, who is passionate about community development has been running the Thembi Kgatlana Foundation, organising soccer tournaments and donating school stationary and sanitary pads at schools around West Rand.

She has also partner with La Liga for her organizations and says it’s a big step towards growing the foundation.

“We are very glad about the partnership with La Liga. It will help us grow the foundation and we will able to reach out more people.”

Kgatlana will be reporting for the Banyana camp on Wednesday with the team preparing for the upcoming Cyprus Women’s Cup starting later in February.
