Khune reveals battle with weight

The Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper admits that being overweight played a role in him suffering injuries last season.

Itumeleng Khune says the criticism that came his way from fans after they lost to Golden Arrows last season made him realise he might be overweight.

He says he plans to slim down to 78kg.

“I was criticised for my weight, but I always thought it comes with age, but I realised that I was suffering from injuries because I was overweight, but I needed to do something about it,” Khune told the media.

“I consulted and I got the advice I could get and I started eating well and drinking my fluids and I started putting in extra work and now I am not suffering from any injuries because of the weight loss.”

Khune jokingly said he will do a public HIV/AIDS test once he slims down to his perfect weight before people start asking question about his status.
