Blow by blow: Tornado FC vs Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs will want to avoid a slip up when they face minnows Tornado FC in the first round of the Nedbank Cup at Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Mdantsane today.

Amakhosi will be wary of the minnows, having fallen to lower league sides on a few occasions in the competition.

Tornado FC will be making a second appearance in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 when they play Chiefs this afternoon.

The Eastern Cape ABC Motsepe side last appeared in the Nedbank Cup in 2015 when they were beaten 4-0 by Orlando Pirates in the opening round by a side that was coached by ex-Buccaneer Jerry Sikhosana.

They will be hoping for better this time round but had a hiccup in the build-up to the tournament when head coach Tshepo Motsoeneng left for Premier Soccer League side Chippa United in early December.

Motsoeneng had led Tornado FC to the ABC Motsepe League national play-offs at the end of the 2017/18 season, where they narrowly missed out on promotion. He is now back with the team.
