Lorch comments on Pirates’ failure to win league title

Orlando Pirates winger Thembinkosi Lorch believes they had a good season as a team, but were just unfortunate that they do not have anything to show for it.

The Buccaneers finished second on the log table for the second successive season, ending the campaign on 56 points, just two points behind champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

“I think we had a good season as a team, but we started very slow. I would like to thank the technical staff, my teammates for the support, and even our supporters for coming out in numbers to supporters throughout the season,” said Lorch, who has been nominated four times in the Premier Soccer League Awards.

“It is just unfortunate that we have nothing to show on the table. People will judge you on what you won, but yeah…like I said, I’m happy with my team.”

Bucs have now gone for five seasons without a trophy.
