Egyptian giants table offer for Pirates striker

Orlando Pirates are said to be mulling over an offer that has come in for striker, Justine Shonga from Egyptian giants, Al-Ahly.

A source has told Phakaaathi that the technical are not too keen on realising the 23-year-old Zambian who was among the top performers last season as they have plans for him in the upcoming season.

The Zambian striker is said to have also attracted interest from Spanish side Eibar as well as Tanzanian giants Simba SC.

“There are talks but I don’t think they will release him. The offer is good but the technical team have bigger plans for Shonga especially with Thembinkosi Lorch also rumoured to be on his way overseas. They cannot afford to lose both their scorers at the same time,” said the source.

Lorch is meanwhile reported to have attracted interest of French teams including Monaco.

Phakaaathi also earlier this year reported that Shonga was closely monitored by an unnamed overseas team and Pirates could hold on to him until that offer is made.
