Modise and Sundowns part ways

Mamelodi Sundowns have agreed to release Teko Modise from his contract with the club.

Sundowns decided to terminate the contract so Modise could try and find a new club for next season as a free agent.

Modise joined the defending Caf Champions League winning side from Orlando Pirates back in 2011.

The former SuperSport United man enjoyed little game time at Sundowns in the last two season, which led to him approaching the club’s management earlier this year to make them aware he would like to leave due to lack of game time.

“Mamelodi Sundowns is grateful to Teko for his many years of loyal service to the Club and wishes him everything of the very best,” read a statement on the club’s official website.

“Teko played an important part in the two PSL titles and the Caf Championship as well as the Caf Super Cup, which Mamelodi Sundowns won during the past season.”
