Mosimane rubbishes Tinkler’s ‘bus and Ferrari’ method
Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United went at each other in a thrilling Tshwane derby encounter on Saturday evening at the Lucas Moripe Stadium as both sides share the points in a 1-1 draw.

Matsatsantsa coach Eric Tinkler started the game with five defenders, with his fullbacks often joining in attack when SuperSport approached Sundowns’ goal mouth.
“It was what we planned and it was extremely effective for us,” Tinkler said after earning a point that moved his side to 26 points on the Absa Premiership standings – two points shy from a top eight spot.
“It was a bus in defence and a Ferrari in attack, he (Mosimane) was not prepared for the Ferrari. He can complain about the bus, but prepare yourself for the Ferrari,” he added.
His counterpart, Mosimane – who is a known loather of intensive defending, otherwise referred to as parking the bus – was baffled when he learnt of Tinkler’s “bus and Ferrari” talk.
“Which Ferrari,” Mosimane questioned.
“He (Tinkler) has to come out of relegation first to talk about Ferraris. Where are the Ferraris? He lost to AmaZulu. He parked the bus, what is he talking about? He is lucky that we didn’t get penalties there because Percy Tau was fouled a lot,” a slightly agitated Mosimane added.
The former SuperSport coach did, nonetheless, applaud Matsatsantsa for walking away with a point.
“They did very well, they brought five defenders, the game plan was good for Eric, he needed a point,” said the ex-Bafana Bafana mentor.
