Mpeta eyeing Bafana return

By Phakaaathi Reporter

Mpeta earned his first national team call up under coach Shakes Mashaba in 2014.

“The mission is to boost the brand and go back to the days where we used to challenge for trophies,” Mpeta told AfricanFootball.com.

“We want to do good, we want to win a trophy, being runners-up isn’t enough and we want to bring back the smiles and that winning mentality in the team, especially for the fans.

“We must fight harder this season. My personal ambition is to do well, represent the country and go overseas.

“That is my personal ambition, to become a regular at Bafana and get a ticket to play overseas.

“I still want to stamp my authority at the left back position in the national team, we have good players such as (Tebogo) Langerman and many others – but I am in for that challenge.”

Mpeta joined Dikwena from SuperSport United permanently after spending last season with the North West side on loan.
