Orlando Pirates partners with Shield

Orlando Pirates have partnered with Shield in search of an aspiring football star who will win a one-year contract with the Bucs reserve team and a trip to England to train with Chelsea.

The Buccaneers announced their involvement in the campaign on Thursday morning at the Discovery Soccer Park in Illovo, Johannesburg.

Bucs director of development Augusto Palacios is excited about the partnership and says it will give them an opportunity to unveil fresh talent.

“Orlando Pirates get players all over the country, just because we are based in Johannesburg doesn’t mean we only take players from here. We have the likes of Innocent Maela who hails from Mpumalanga coming from our development and a whole lot more,” said Palacios.

“We are very excited about this partnership and it gives us an opportunity to see some new raw talent.”

This is the second year of the campaign and sponsors are anticipating it to be bigger and better.
