Paez aiming for Nedbank cup title

Kaizer Chiefs striker Gustavo Paez has expressed his desire to win silverware with Amakhosi.

Paez scored his first goal in Chiefs colours on Saturday night at a windy Athlone Stadium netting Amakhosi’s third goal.

The Venezuelan forward got a rare start when his side booted Stellenbosch FC out of the Nedbank Cup.

Paez created the first goal for Joseph Molongoane before rounding off the scoring for Chiefs to reach the Nedbank Cup last 16 with a 3-0 win.

“Yes, I’m very happy for myself and the team. We want to win this cup,” Paez told SuperSport TV after the match.

“My first start was here [at Athlone Stadium] against Ajax, this is my second time in the startig line-up and fifth or sixth game [in total].

“I feel very confident and today I’m very happy that I scored. We took control of the match so I’m very happy.”
