Pitso praises Vilakazi after Baroka win

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has hailed midfielder Sibusiso Vilakazi following his side’s 2-1 win over Baroka this past weekend.

Vilakazi, who was named Man of the Match, put in a good display for the Brazilians against Bakgaga and helped his team increase their lead at the top of the Absa Premiership to four points.

“Vila [Sibusiso Vilakazi] didn’t have the biggest game, but he was an important player for us. You can see his experience on the ball when Percy [Tau] scored after he created the goal,” Mosimane told SuperSport TV after the game.

“He [Vilakazi] gets there, he doesn’t panic. Normally they shoot or blast the ball, so he is getting the shot,” added Mosimane.

Meanwhile, Vilakazi was happy with his contribution in the Sundowns win over Baroka.

“The most important thing is making a contribution to the team, and so far it has been great,” said Vilakazi.

“Coming into the game we found it difficult after we conceded the goal at the corner, and we had to regroup in the game.

“We managed to level the score with a corner, and in the second half we were able to get that winning goal.”

Sundowns will next host the defending league champions Bidvest Wits at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
