Pitso preparing for life without Percy Tau

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has conceded that Percy Tau could leave the club during the upcoming transfer period.

Tau, who was a star performer for Sundowns last season, has been linked with a move to Europe.

“It is not up to me, let’s be realistic. He has done very well and we should expect somebody from Europe. There are talks already. I’m preparing that I’m losing him. It is going to be tough for us,” Mosimane told the media.

“But as I say always, tough when you lose ‘CBD’ and all that, we continued. We lost Pelembe, Surprise [Moriri]. You lose [Katlego] Mphela, key players. Alje Schut was a captain and a pillar of strength. But we have to replace,” he added.

Meanwhile, Mosimane remains hopeful of landing Bafana Bafana midfielder Andile Jali, who is a free agent after leaving Belgian side Oostende.

“With all the games that we are playing, with the experience he has, the game attitude, he fits in well.

“He can play and pass the ball in the midfield, and he works hard.

“The only challenge will be that hunger, does he really, really want to come and play in the PSL and finish well? Or is it by the way I’m no longer there and I want to come home maybe because of family problems. Or maybe he wants to be with his family now?

“So that’s also important. Does he also want to play for us?”
