Pitso showers Vilakazi with praises

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has heaped praises on midfielder Sibusiso Vilakazi, saying the Bafana Bafana international has grown in leaps and bounds.

“Vila” has started and starred in all the last five of Masandawana’s Absa Premiership games where they recorded five wins on the trot in their quest for a third championship in five years and what would be a record eighth title.

“He is important, he brings confidence in the team. He is such an intelligent player and he gives Hlompho Kekana and Tiyani Mabunda relief in the midfield by dropping to the midfield. He gives us a three-man midfield and at the same time he is in the box… he works really hard,” said Mosimane.

“He is showing maturity. There are times where he kept the ball for about 30 seconds and waited for the team to pass and that showed the maturity because he waited for the team and released the ball at the right time. Not many people can do that. I am happy with him,” Mosimane added.

Vilakazi is not the only player who has hit form at Sundowns at the moment; in fact, Mosimane reckons the whole team is doing exceptionally well.

“Vila and Themba Zwane, Mabunda, Kekana, and Tebogo Langerman are playing well too. We have got too many people who are playing well and that shows that they are Bafana players. They all have been playing well, that is why we won five games in a row… the defence is good too.”
