Safa won’t appeal Fifa decision to replay World Cup qualifier
Safa lawyer Advocate Norman Arendse has confirmed that the association will not appeal Fifa's decision to replay the World Cup qualifier against Senegal.

Fifa ordered last week that the match that was played in November last year should be replayed due to “match manipulation” by referee Joseph Lamptey.
The world football governing body then told Safa they could not appeal the decision.

Now Arendse has confirmed the association has decided to abide by the decision of football governing body Fifa to have the match between SA and Senegal replayed.
“We won’t pursue an appeal at this stage. We will accept the ruling of the committee and replay this match,” Arendse said.
Safa president Danny Jordaan also confirmed his association would abide by Fifa’s decision.
“Our position is clear on the issue of match fixing and manipulation. We cannot benefit from such and take the points,” Jordaan said.
“If this match is the result of match manipulation, then we don’t want those points, we then agree with Fifa.”
